Sips & Tips by the Sea with Cheese

A delicious infusion of tea intelligence and cheese obsession.

If we think of tea in the same manner as we do wine it makes perfect sense that a wisp of mist and a few metres of elevation can profoundly alter the taste of tea. As deeply complex as a fine wine, the nuances of tea are appreciated by only a handful of experts worldwide.

As those who attended our previous event with David Thompson of Larsen & Thompson teas will know, he is Australia’s most experienced tea buyer, taster & importer. Archaeologist David pioneered the import of Indian single-estate teas in Australia and foresees a time when Australians will choose their tea with the same discernment that they use to choose their wines.

So we thought why not take the connections a step further and try matching some amazing tea with some incredible Tasmanian cheeses?

The result? Silvana Taurian , Cheese Monger from Truckle & Co will expertly match a selection of artisanal Tasmanian cheeses from the likes of Tongala, Bay of Fires and Coal River Farm to David’s hand selected teas. In doing so, they will reveal some surprising and delightful combinations.
