When we set up The Farm Shed to represent vineyards along Tasmania’s East Coast, we were informed that the East Coast Wine Region’s southern boundary was around Orford.
Recently, Tasmanian wine industry legend and owner of Bream Creek Vineyard, Fred Peacock, convinced us that the region infact extended south beyond Maria Island as far as Marion Bay, which is adjacent to the Forestier and Tasman Peninsulas.
Fred’s reasoning is based on weather patterns and geography, which he explained to us in this short interview. Fred also outlines some opportunities for the East Coast Wine Region that are arising due to the changing climate.
We are delighted to have Fred’s Bream Creek wines available now at The Farm Shed.
